About Simonson Veterinary Services

Amanda Simonson, DVM, cVA

I am a veterinarian committed to helping animals and their people have long, healthy, pain-free lives together. After graduation from veterinary school, I practiced in Arizona for 15 years in the small animal hospital setting doing cutting edge medicine, surgery, preventive care, acupuncture, PBM therapy, and dentistry. Since 2018, I have spent more time in the patient’s home environment, focusing on palliative hospice care, pain management, acupuncture, laser therapy, and in-home euthanasia. I cherish the relationship shared between people and pets. I feel honored to be part of this equation.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona.  My Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree was completed at Colorado State University in 2003 in Fort Collins, Colorado. I became certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture in 2011 and credentialed in Stem Cell Regenerative Medicine in 2013. I was fortunate to collaborate on and publish an article in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association in 2020. My passion for client education led me to publish articles for pet owners for a reference library at PetMD in 2021 and 2022.  Our ranch work and ministry has grown my expertise in large animal and production medicine. In 2023, I received my certification for cattle artificial insemination from Bovine Elite and Texas A & M University. Dr. Denise Easterling of Madisonville, Texas is a wonderful mentor and welcomed my small animal medical practices into her Clinic and taught me countless large animal procedures.

My husband, youngest son, and I live on a working beef cattle ranch in Texas full of animals. My adult children come to help us often, and we are so grateful. We have dogs, cats, horses, chickens, cattle, goats, and a fish tank. We are blessed to be part of this community.
